Construction
Due to changes in legislation regarding the use of chemical weed control products, Kemp developed a weed brush as an environmentally friendly alternative to the use of herbicides.

The Weed brush duo (OKBD) is equipped with two hydraulically driven brushes. The rotating movement of the brushes mechanically removes weeds from the surface. By using two brushes, a larger area can be covered in the same amount of time, resulting in higher capacity and more efficient operation.

Both brushes rotate in the same direction, directing weeds and debris to one side. This ensures clean and controlled surface cleaning.

The Weed brush duo features a pivoting construction that allows both brushes to follow the ground independently. This ensures good contact with the surface and eliminates the need for height correction on uneven surfaces of approximately ± 15 cm. At the same time, the angle of the brushes can be adjusted by raising or lowering the frame, allowing a more or less aggressive brushing action.

The Weed brush duo is available as a fixed version and a hydraulically swivelling version.

The fixed version is mainly intended for use on mobile excavators. On the hydraulically swivelling version, the pivot point is positioned close to the vehicle, allowing a large swivelling range of approximately 70 degrees to the left and right. This allows the weed brush to be positioned far beside the vehicle while maintaining a good view of the brushes during operation.

For heavy weed growth, the brushes can be swivelled to their maximum position so that both brushes work one behind the other. This creates a more aggressive brushing action and allows the surface to be cleaned more quickly.

The OKBD is equipped with two brushes with a diameter of 750 mm. The OKBD comes standard with 36 steel cable tufts and can optionally be equipped with steel strips. The Weed brush duo weighs approximately 300 kg.

Versions
The Weed brush duo (OKBD) can be attached to a (mini) wheel loader, (mini) excavator, tractor or forklift, provided that the minimum oil flow is 40 litres per minute and the machine is equipped with a pressure-free return connection.

The hydraulic version comes standard with interchangeable mounting plates.

Explanation of options:

OKBF: Swingable rubber flap

The weed brush can optionally be equipped with a rubber flap to contain loose weeds and dirt. (See image) The rubber flap is adjustable in multiple positions and can be used on both sides.

OKBE: Electric control of rotation and swiveling

With this option, the rotation of the brush and the swiveling of the weed brush can be controlled electrically. Using an electric switch, it is easy to switch between these functions without requiring multiple hydraulic functions on the vehicle.

OKBJ: Joystick with magnetic base and cable for operation

With this option, the weed brush is equipped with a joystick for operating the machine's additional functions. The joystick is equipped with a magnetic base, allowing it to be easily mounted in a suitable location in the cabin. The operation is cable-based, ensuring reliable and direct control of the functions. 

OKBD1000: Steel cable brush with a diameter of 1,000 mm, 44 bundles 

With this option, the weed brush is equipped with steel cable brushes with a diameter of 1,000 mm, featuring 44 bundles. The larger diameter provides a greater reach and a longer brush life, as they wear out less quickly.
