The Kemp Weed brush adjustable hydraulic (OKBZ) is designed for removing weeds. The hydraulically driven brush removes weeds effectively without the use of chemicals. Thanks to the hydraulically adjustable construction, the brush can be positioned far beside the vehicle and is suitable for (mini) wheel loaders, (mini) excavators, tractors and forklifts.
Advantages
Construction
Due to changes in legislation regarding the use of chemical weed control products, Kemp developed a weed brush as an environmentally friendly alternative to the use of herbicides.
The Weed brush adjustable hydraulic (OKBZ) features a hydraulically adjustable construction. The pivot point is positioned close to the vehicle, allowing a large swivelling range of approximately 70 degrees to the left and right. This allows the brush to be positioned far beside the vehicle while maintaining a good view of the brush during operation. This makes precise work along edges, sidewalks, walls and other obstacles possible.
The hydraulically adjustable version uses two hydraulic cylinders to move the brush under hydraulic pressure.
The weed brush is hydraulically driven. The rotating movement of the brush mechanically removes weeds from the surface.
The weed brush features a pivoting construction that allows the brush to follow the ground. This ensures good contact with the surface and eliminates the need for height correction on uneven surfaces of approximately ± 15 cm. At the same time, the angle of the brush can be adjusted by raising or lowering the frame, allowing a more or less aggressive brushing action.
The OKBZ is equipped with one brush with 44 steel cable bundles and a diameter of 750 mm. The Weed brush adjustable hydraulic weighs approximately 200 kg.
Versions
The Weed brush adjustable hydraulic (OKBZ) can be attached to a (mini) wheel loader, (mini) excavator, tractor or forklift, provided that the minimum oil flow is 25 litres per minute.
Two hydraulic functions are required to operate the weed brush: one function for rotating the brush and one function for hydraulically adjusting the brush.
The OKBZ comes standard with interchangeable mounting plates.
See the Specifications section for more information and the available options.

Explanation of options:
OKBF: Swiveling rubber flap
The weed brush can optionally be equipped with a rubber flap to block loose weed and dirt. The rubber flap is adjustable in multiple positions and can be used on both sides.
OKBVA800/1000: Extended arm (800/1000 mm instead of 650 mm)
The weed brush can optionally be equipped with an extended arm of 1,000 or 800 mm instead of the standard 650 mm. With this extended arm, the brush can be placed further beside the vehicle, creating a larger working range. This is especially useful when brushing along edges, curbs, walls, or other obstacles where extra distance between the vehicle and working area is desired.
OKBKS: Edge cutting knife
The edge cutting knife ensures well-finished edges along, for example, grass fields and pavements. The knife is equipped with a robust obstacle protection in the form of a heavy spring, preventing damage upon contact with obstacles. Additionally, the edge cutting knife is hydraulically foldable via a cylinder for extra convenience. Mounting takes place on the right side of the machine.
OKBKM: Mechanical tilt head adjustment
With this option, the brush can be mechanically tilted up to 15 degrees to the left or right. By tilting the brush, it can work more aggressively on the surface, making it more effective against stubborn weeds. The tilt angle can easily be mechanically set to multiple positions.
OKBKH: Hydraulic tilt head adjustment
With this option, the brush can be hydraulically tilted up to 15 degrees to the left or right. This allows the brush's operation to be easily adjusted while working, without the driver needing to dismount. By hydraulically tilting, the brush can be used more aggressively on the surface, effectively removing more stubborn weeds.
OKB1000: Steel cable brush diameter 1,000 mm, 44 bundles (Min. oil flow: 30 L.)
With this option, the weed brush is equipped with a steel cable brush with a diameter of 1,000 mm, featuring 44 bundles. The larger diameter allows for a wider range and longer lifespan of the brush, as it wears out less quickly. For proper functionality, this brush requires a minimum oil flow of 30 liters per minute.
OKBNY750: Nylon brush diameter 750 mm, 20 replaceable tufts (Min. oil flow: 25 L)
With this option, the weed brush is equipped with a nylon brush with a diameter of 750 mm, featuring 20 replaceable tufts. The main advantage of this design is that individual tufts can be easily replaced when they are worn out, keeping maintenance costs lower and extending the brush's usage duration. For proper functionality, this brush requires a minimum oil flow of 25 liters per minute.
OKBNY1000: Nylon brush diameter 1,000 mm, 24 replaceable tufts (Min. oil flow: 30 L)
With this option, the weed brush is equipped with a nylon brush with a diameter of 1,000 mm, featuring 24 replaceable tufts. The advantage of the replaceable tufts is that worn parts can be easily replaced individually, limiting maintenance costs and extending the brush's lifespan. For proper functionality, this brush requires a minimum oil flow of 30 liters per minute.
DL: Pressureless return connection
A pressureless return connection ensures that hydraulic oil can flow back to the vehicle without back pressure. This prevents overheating of the hydraulic system and reduces wear on the hydromotor.
OKBO: Overpressure / run-down valve
With this option, the weed brush is equipped with an overpressure and run-down valve. This valve protects the hydraulic system against excessive pressure and ensures controlled spin-down of the brush after the hydraulics are switched off.
OKBE: Electric operation of rotation and swiveling
With this option, a single hydraulic function can switch between rotating the brush and swiveling the brush. By means of an electric switch from the cabin, it is easy to toggle between both functions without the need for an additional hydraulic connection on the vehicle.
OKBEE: Electric operation of rotation, swiveling, and tilting
With this option, the rotation, swiveling, and tilting of the brush can be electrically operated. Using an electric switch, it is easy to select between these functions without needing multiple hydraulic functions on the vehicle.
OKB3XE: Electric operation of rotation, swiveling, tilting, and edge cutting knife
This option allows the rotation, swiveling, tilting of the weed brush, and operation of the edge cutting knife to be electrically controlled. Using an electric switch, it's easy to toggle between these functions, while requiring only a limited number of hydraulic functions.
OKBJ: Joystick with magnetic base and cable for operation
With this option, the weed brush is equipped with a joystick to operate the machine's additional functions. The joystick features a magnetic base, allowing it to be easily mounted in a suitable place in the cabin. The operation is via a cable, ensuring reliable and direct control of the functions.
