The weed brush triple (OKBT) from Kemp has been developed for the removal of weeds. The hydraulically driven brush effectively removes weeds. The weed brush is suitable for (mini)loader, (mini)excavator, tractor, and forklift.
Advantages
Construction
Due to changes in legislation regarding the use of chemical agents for weed control, Kemp has developed a weed brush. This weed brush removes weeds in an environmentally friendly manner and serves as a good alternative to the use of chemical agents.
The triple weed brush (OKBT) is equipped with three hydraulically powered brushes. The rotating motion of the brushes mechanically loosens weeds from the ground surface. By using three brushes, a larger area can be brushed in the same amount of time, ensuring higher capacity and more efficient operation for cleaning larger surfaces.
The brushes rotate in the same direction, causing debris to be discharged to one side. This results in a clean and controlled cleaning of the surface.
The weed brush is equipped with a pendulum mechanism, allowing the brushes to independently follow the terrain. This enables the brushes to maintain good contact with the surface and obviates the need for height adjustment for unevenness of approximately ± 15 cm. At the same time, the angle of the brushes can be adjusted by raising or lowering the frame, allowing for more or less aggressive operation.
The triple weed brush is available in a fixed version and a hydraulically swiveling version. The fixed version is primarily intended for use with a mobile crane equipped with a tilt-rotator. In the hydraulically swiveling version, the pivot point is positioned close to the vehicle, enabling a wide swivel range of approximately 70 degrees to the left and right. This allows the weed brush to be placed far beside the vehicle while maintaining good visibility on the brushes during operation.
In cases of severe pollution, the brushes can be swiveled to the maximum extent, allowing brushing with the three brushes sequentially. This makes the operation more aggressive and speeds up the work.
The OKBT is equipped with three steel cable brushes containing 36 bundles with a diameter of 750 mm. The maximum working width of the triple version is 2,225 mm.
Design
The triple weed brush (OKBT) can be connected to a (mini) loader, (mini) crane, tractor, or forklift, provided the minimum oil flow is 60 liters per minute and the machine is equipped with a pressure-free return.
The hydraulic model comes standard with interchangeable plates.
See the specifications section for more information and available options.
The OKBT is available in different types. The differences per type are shown in the table below.
| Types | Design | Note |
| OKBST | Fixed design | Suitable for mobile crane |
| OKBZT | Hydraulic swiveling design | - |
Additionally, the different types can be expanded with options, depending on the type of vehicle.
| Options | Description | Suitable for types |
| OKBF | Swiveling rubber flap | All types |
| OKBE | Electric operation of rotation and swiveling | OKBZT |
| OKBJ | Joystick with magnetic base and cable for operation | OKBZT |
Explanation of options:
OKBF: Swiveling rubber flap
The weed brush can optionally be equipped with a rubber flap to prevent loose weeds and dirt from spreading. (See image) The rubber flap is adjustable in multiple positions and can be used on both sides.
OKBE: Electric operation of rotation and swiveling
With this option, the rotation of the brush and the swiveling of the weed brush can be operated electrically. Using an electrical circuit, it is easy to choose between these functions without the need for multiple hydraulic functions on the vehicle.
OKBJ: Joystick with magnetic base and cable for operation
With this option, the weed brush is equipped with a joystick for operating the additional functions of the machine. The joystick is equipped with a magnetic base, allowing it to be easily mounted in a suitable place in the cabin. The operation takes place via a cable, ensuring reliable and direct control of the functions.
