The bale spear (BS) from Kemp is a practical extension for all Kemp sliding bale clamps and makes it easy to remove film, twine and netting from bales. Thanks to its removable design, the bale spear can be quickly removed when bales need to be transported. In combination with the bale clamp, the clamping system with film holder ensures efficient and safe operation.

Construction
The bale spear (BS) is built from a sturdy construction suitable for daily use in combination with a bale clamp. The bale spear can be mounted on all Kemp sliding clamps and serves as a practical extension for handling bales.
The bale spear is equipped with a foil holder with spring retainers, which firmly hold foil, net, or ropes during removal. The construction is made detachable and can easily be removed with two pins and quick couplings, allowing the bale clamp to be fully utilized again for bale transport.
Operation
The operation of the bale spear is as follows:
The bale clamp is opened, and the foil holder moves upwards, enabling the spear to slide under the foil, net, or ropes. Subsequently, the clamp is closed, and the foil holder also moves downwards, where the foil, net, or ropes are clamped by the spring retainers.
Afterwards, the foil, net, or ropes can be cut, for example, with a knife or a knife holder on the feeder wagon. When the clamp is opened again, the bale falls out of the clamp, leaving the foil and ropes behind in the foil holder.
The foil holder can be operated with one double-acting hydraulic function in combination with the bale clamp. For this, a check valve on the foil clamp and a sequence valve are required.

The bale spear (BS) is standardly delivered with hoses and a ‘man’ coupling. Additionally, the bale spear is equipped with mounting parts suitable for your vehicle.

Explanation of option:
BSV: With this option, the bale spear can be operated with one double-acting hydraulic function in combination with the bale clamp. The check valve ensures that the film clamp stays in position, while the sequencing valve ensures that the movements occur in the correct order. As a result, the bale spear operates safely and controlled with just one hydraulic function.
